For the first 8 weeks, work with a group to research common mobile apps and to design a new app, its features, and to critique it individually.

Solution

After much editing, the project became individual, making your own logomark, type system, and other design necessities. The final deliverables includes a process book, screen designs, logomark/icon, and a short prototyped video of the mobile app in action.

In the survey our group made, we discovered that 93.3% of our respondents struggle with mental health while attending college. The main difficulties: increased stress, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, and focusing. Covid-19 has also taken a major negative impact on students' health too. Some recommended solutions are exercise and practicing self-care.

As a group, we realized that by creating a mental health platform, we would be able to help those students struggling while keeping conversations anonymous so that privacy is well kept. The app would include healthy reminders, daily tips and goals, and a community to connect with similar settings and emotions.

After combining our research and knowledge, we moved forward in putting together a flowchart of possible pages for the mobile app.

We also worked on user testing through possible scenarios.

Once the foundation for the app was completed and secure, the project became individual work. I started with icon sketches by hand, moved to digital iterations, and then finalized the logomark.

The last phase of the project was concept development. During this phase, I created layout sketches, digital mockups, and final iterations.
